Pet Boa Constrictor No Reason To Deny Custody

When it comes to child custody battles during divorce, the issues can range from the mundane to the bizarre. In one recent Canadian case, if the mother had her way, her ex-spouse might have had to choose between his boa constrictor and his six-year- old daughter. But the judge's ruling has allowed the father to continue enjoying the company of both his unusual pet and his child.

Ruling Allows Public Access To Real Estate Data. Board Appeals.

It's a dispute that has dragged on for years between the Competition Bureau of Canada and the Toronto Real Estate Board (TREB). But, in April, Canada's Competition Tribunal ruled that TREB must allow its members to provide public, online access to sensitive sales data.

Child Support Will No Longer Reduce Social Assistance Payments

In a recent news release, the provincial government has announced its firmed-up plans to end the clawback of child support payments from low-income Ontarians on social assistance. The change takes place in early 2017 and provides a welcome sigh of relief to the almost 19,000 families who stand to benefit.
